I'm an associate professor of linguistics and department chair at UT Arlington. My research areas are semantics, pragmatics, and corpus linguistics. As part of a study on how people grapple with ambiguous terms in everyday conversations, I am compiling a corpus of both old and new media vernacular texts. This project supplements a semantic/anthropological examination of American beliefs about health.
